Nick’s main areas of work are:
Nick joined Cooper Rapley's litigation team in 2009 with a focus on resource management law and civil litigation.
Nick has acted for a range of local authorities, institutions and private clients at any stage of development and the resource management process. Nick has appeared at hearings at the council level, Environment Court, High Court and as a junior counsel in the Court of Appeal.
A keen interest in earth sciences and other technical fields is in the genes. Nick recalls his dad's excited tone discussing rock formations and the drivers of erosion while on many, long, long car trips. By specialising in resource management law, Nick has found a way to reconcile his interest in the natural and physical environment with his dad’s career counselling that “you should do anything you want to, unless you want to work for the government as a scientist.”
Nick values his time working with clients and professionals in all matters and understands the importance of ‘attitude’ to problem solving and achieving good outcomes for his clients.
