Shannon is a litigator specialising in environment, local government and infrastructure issues. She also has expertise in civil and public law litigation. Shannon has over 16 years experience, appearing regularly in the Environment, District, Maori Land and High Courts. Particular areas of focus include infrastructure, rural and property development matters, strategic planning and policy, subdivision, environmental due diligence, and environmental and regulatory compliance. Shannon also advises on Local Government Act issues, official information and privacy, and Building Act matters. She regularly engages in mediation, and is experienced in other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Shannon sits on one of the NZLS General Standards Committees. She is also a member of the Resource Management Law Association.
